My introduction to racing began after meeting with David Ellesley, team boss of Race Car Consultants and a previous winner of the BRSCC Fiesta Championship.
In order to go racing and apply for a racing licence you must first pass the ARDS test (Association of Racing Drivers Schools). The test has both a written and practical element, and you must pass both.
On the 22nd July 2017, he coached me to pass the ARDS Test at Silverstone International circuit, which enabled me to obtain the MSA National B Race Licence.
With some further practice sessions, I was then delighted to be given the opportunity to race for his team. I went on to make my debut in rounds 17, 18 and 19 of the BRSCC Fiesta Championship at Silverstone in 2018.
2017 - Passed ARDS Racing Test - Association of Racing Driver Schools.
2017 - Obtained UK National B Race Licence.
2018 - Race debut in the BRSCC Fiesta Championship at Silverstone.
When i'm not racing I work as a Driving Instructor for Latics Driver Training. I have a passion for driving safely and I feel privileged to be in a position where I can pass on my knowledge to the next generation of learner drivers. My students really do keep me on my toes, sometimes even more so than when i'm out on the racing circuit!
My journey to becoming a Driving Instructor began in 2012, when I trained with well-respected trainers Ged & Claire Wilmot of Active Driving Solutions. They are fantastic people, with an outstanding reputation in the industry.
They not only trained me to a high standard but have been instrumental in offering me the support and guidance to start up a successful franchise business with Latics Driver Training. In 2015 I passed the Standards Check, and was awarded as a Grade A Driving Instructor, the highest grade.
2013 - Qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor.
2015 - Passed the ADI Standards Check with a Grade A, the highest grade.
2018 - Level 3 Award in Teaching and Education.
2019 - Dip.DE Diploma in Driver Education.
My introduction to Advanced Driving began in 2016 when I completed a course in Roadcraft and Police Advanced Driving Techniques with Chris Gilbert, who is himself a former Police Driving Instructor.
In 2017 I successfully passed the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test, with a F1RST, the highest grade. Thanks to the West Pennine Group Of Advanced Motorists.
In 2019 I completed the IAM RoadSmart Master Driver Training programme with a Distinction Award, representing the highest standard of civilian driving in the country.
I love the challenge of keeping up my standards of driving every single time I get in the car, in my opinion it makes you a much more focused and engaging driver. The more precise you drive, the more you enjoy it.
2016 - Roadcraft & Police Advanced Driving Techniques course with Chris Gilbert.
2017 - IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test - F1RST.
2019 - IAM RoadSmart Masters Driving Test - Distinction.
